1990s to date
Since 2001, Flávia lives in Miami, where she teaches music and
develops a project to teach art to disabled people, one of
her area of expertise.
So far, Flávia already recorded five CDs:
Flávia
Ferreira -
An instrumental music CD released in Afogados da Ingazeira at
the Personalidades Afogadenses event.
Grupo Lumiar -
A single CD released in 1985 with two songs: Traços composed
by Flávia Ferreira and Espelhos composed by Sumaya Bittencourt
and Flávia Ferreira.
Contracanto -
Classical songs with lyrics composed by Janice Japiassu and
arrangements for guitar and cello by Flávia. This CD was released
in 2000 in Recife
Feeling & Saudade - The
objective of the duet formed by Flávia Ferreira and Ligia Cabrera
is to explore the connection between the Brazilian and Cuban music.

Interpreta Canhoto da Paraíba -
Homage to Francisco de Araújo Soares, Canhoto da Paraiba,
a famous Brazilian guitarist, composer, and musician who died recently.
The first part of this project was implemented with funds from the Brazilian
Arts Incentive Law, through the St. Joseph Memorial Hospital, in Recife.
The second part will be carried out with Flavia’s own resources,
and the CD will be completed in Miami in 2009. The release will be in
Brazil and the profit from the sales of this CD will be destined to preserve
the composer’s work.
